MEDIA RELEASE –Â Monday, March 17, 2025
Around 12.30am Sunday, a threesome group of Muslim boys wearing Muslim dress, were the target of a drive-by shooting along Logan Road, Underwood causing injury. The serious incident and unprovoked attack was immediately reported to Logan Police and QPS Mt Gravatt Office informed.
As the assailant in the car missed with the first shot, s/he backed up and shot again this time hitting the boy in the shoulder. The bullet is still lodged in the arm and the boy is in stable condition under observation in hospital. The bullet otherwise could easily have hit vital organs.
The shooter was in a white single car utility and the plate number was photographed and noted. Logan police have apparently identified the car owner but no arrest has yet been made. We are unsure of the reason for this delay.
We understand that the Queensland Police Service will be conducting further investigations to ascertain the background to the shooting and whether it may be an Islamophobic incident or perhaps some local criminal activity, with the young victim, a subject of mistaken identity.
The sooner that police investigation can result in apprehending the culprit(s) then the sooner that the Southside Brisbane community will be at ease. Anyone who may have video footage of the incident is encouraged to provide this evidence to the ICQ or to the Police.
Media members may contact the undersigned for further updates or clarification about the incident.
