The Islamic Council of Queensland represents numerous organisations and mosques across approximately ten Queensland cities, which stretch from Brisbane and the Gold Coast to Cairns in North Queensland.

An overview of each of our member and partner organisations is set out below. This page will be updated periodically for the addition of any new members or partners.

Townsville Islamic Society Inc is driven by a single goal: to do our part in making the Townsville a better place for all. We strive to build productive relationships and make a positive impact with all of our pursuits.

Islamic Society of West End Inc

Our Mission: To provide a facility for prayers, education, youth foundation and community services for the Muslim community of the greater Richmond area. Our Vision: A welcoming place for people of all backgrounds seeking an understanding of Islam and Muslims. To develop, support and promote a complete Islamic way of life as delineated in the Holy Qur’an, and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). To strengthen the bonds between Muslims and Non-Muslims alike by establishing a united community through effective interfaith partnership, tolerance, and respect.

Islamic Society of Toowoomba Inc.

Toowoomba

The Muslim Community in Toowoomba is united under the banner of the Islamic Society of Toowoomba, Inc. (IST). It is a registered non-profit organization to serve the needs of Islamic practices of the Muslims in Toowoomba and its surroundings. The Muslim students at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), local and overseas, play a significant part of the activities of the IST. The IST is a member of the Islamic Council of Queensland (ICQ), a forum of the Muslims in the state of Queensland in Australia. The ICQ is a part of the Federation of the Islamic Councils in Australia (AFIC), an umbrella organization of the Muslims of Australia.

The University of Southern Queensland has provided an Islamic Centre on its Toowoomba campus for its Muslim students and staff. This Centre is run by the IST, and uses it for all the religious needs of the local Muslims. The wider Muslim Community enjoys unlimited access to the facilities provded at the Islamic centre.

It is the goal of the Islamic Society in Toowoomba, Inc. to foster a strong community spirit amongst the Muslims in Toowoomba and to present the true message of Islam to the wider community.
