The vision of the Brisbane Islamic Centre Management is to provide a place of worship for Muslims and a place of learning and cultural awareness for Non-Muslims. Our fervent hope is to ensure that the teachings and message of Islam creates a spirit of understanding and harmony for the Muslim community in Brisbane in particular, but also Australian society as a whole.
Our purpose is to work with other faiths and communities to inform, educate and bring about closer co-operation between different teachings, cultures and customs. Our aim is to encourage integration not separation, and understanding not ignorance about Islam & Muslims.
From the time of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) — the mosque has been the central focus of the Muslim community.
Indeed, the Prophet’s mosque in Medina was not just a prayer facility. It was a multipurpose family-centered institution that served as a school, a meeting place, a venue for sport events and other celebrations.
Our objective is to build on this powerful heritage and help shape the identity of future generations of proud Australian Muslims.

Islamic Society of Algester Inc.
The Islamic Society of Algester was established in 1990 in response to the growing number of Muslims in Southern Brisbane. It has grown significantly over the years, with the continuing inflow of migrants and new Muslims. The Society is dedicated to meeting the needs of the Muslim community in Brisbane, promoting Islamic awareness and co operation in the best tradition of Islam. As members of the Society we strive to embody the Sunnah (practice) of the Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) and teachings of the Quraan. As such, we promote and practice values of peace, inclusiveness and respect towards all God’s creatures.
