Our Mission: To serve and help Muslims in Cairns, Mareeba, and the surrounding area. The construction of the mosque was completed in 2010, controlled by trustees and administered by Cairns Imaam, Managing Trustee, Abdul Aziz Mohammed. The Cairns muslim community is almost 100 years old but still very small, around 200 ~ 250 people. The community comprises of more than 11 different nationalities.

ISCQ is a registered community based organisation providing social and cultural services to Muslims of Central Queensland. All ISCQ affairs are managed by an Executive Committee. All Executive Committee members are volunteers. ISCQ works closely with various stakeholders to promote love, peace, compassion and interfaith harmony among CQ communities. ISCQ arranges for community events on a regular basis eg Mosque open days, cricket matches, food festivals, Iftar (share a meal) parties, special lectures, kids' festivals and kids' schools. These events are open to the general public and mostly no prior invitation is required.
