ICQ Member Organisations to Increase Female Participation

One of our key areas of focus under our new management committee in ICQ is to increase female participation within our various communities and societies.

Below is a copy of the letter that was sent to all member organisations urging for greater female participation.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

One of our key areas of focus under our new management committee in ICQ is to increase female participation within our various communities and societies. With 50% of our community being female, it is imperative that we provide opportunities within our respective societies to hold leadership positions to facilitate our progression as Muslims in Queensland.

Some of our best initiatives and programs have been spearheaded by our sisters, and it is time that we not only recognise these efforts but encourage them. We are very honoured to have Sister Janeth Deen to be the first female member of ICQ and she has undoubtedly opened the door for many others to follow in her path. Opening positions for women within out societies will provide a platform that supports women’s initiatives and will foster a greater community spirit.

We implore all our member organisations to encourage greater female participation at a society and committee level and ask our sisters to take on these roles as they become available.
